One Day The Game Will Be Over and We Shall All Return Home

It is critical to be reminded that regardless of the exposure and experience you come across out there, you will still have to go back home at the end of the day.

A story goes like this:

James was sent by his father to urgently buy him food from a nearby restaurant. He quickly ran out to carry the assignment. He was determined to bring his father the best meal to douse his hunger!

However, on his way back, James passed through an open field where his mates were playing football. He slowed down, began to watch the game, gradually slowing down until he finally stopped. He watched for a while and got carried away. James became interested in the game, and was invited to join other players in the ground.

Due to the excitement, James left the food he had bought in the care of some strangers. He forgot that his father was waiting for him to come back with some food! James played his heart out and became the man of the match, dribbling opponents, creating chances, and scoring goals.

When sunset came, the owner of the ball picked it up. It was time for everyone to go home; to go back to their parents, the game was over!

It now dawned on James after everyone had left that he had actually been sent to buy food by his hungry father. He went to where he had kept the food, but it had been eaten by goats and dogs. “But I kept this food with some guys here some time ago” he lamented with tears in his eyes. It was too late now!

James later on picked his empty containers, engraved with a sense of shame. All the excitement was now gone, all the people who were clapping for him were all gone, the opponents he was playing against were all gone, the ball itself was gone, time was gone, those selling food were gone!

Regrettably, James sluggishly walked home, with tears of sorrow and regrets whilst hiding in the dark. He knew the implications of a wasted time, and what awaited him ahead.

Moral of The Story:

We all have a home and a father to return to at the end of this life's journey. When all is said and done, we have to return back to our creator.

Don't be distracted, don't rejoice when people are clapping for you while doing the wrong things, they won't be there when you are called to give your account.

Avoid distractions, we are sent here for an assignment. Our Father is waiting for us. This ball we are busy playing, when night comes, the owner will pick it, the crowd will disappear, we'll be left alone to go back and give a report to our creator. What will you tell God Almighty?

Think about it this seriously.
