Keynote Advice - Know Your Worth and Where You Are Valued

The world does not offer anyone worth, respect and honour on a silver platter.

You have to be alert to identify where you are valued. Without understanding this fact of life, you can be abused even by people who are worth far less than you.

One day, a father said to his son: “This is the watch your grandfather gave me and it is more than 200 years old. Before I give it to you go to the Jewellery Shop on First Street, and tell the owner you want to sell it. Ask how much they can offer”.

The son went and after several minutes, he came back to his father and said, “The watchmaker offers to pay US$ 5.00 because it's old and has a lot of scratches”.

The father asked his son to go to the Coffee Shop in Fourth Street and ask how much they were willing to offer for the watch. The son went and after an hour he came back and said: “The Coffee Shop owner offers US$ 5.00, daddy”.

For the third attempt the father said to his son, “Go to the Museum in Seventh Street and show them that watch”. The son went again and came so happy. “They offered me US$ 1 million dollars for this watch daddy! I just can’t believe it”.

The father said: “I wanted to let you know that the right place will always value your worth. In life, don’t put yourself in a wrong place and get angry if you get treated like trash. Those who know your worth will always appreciate you. Don't you ever stay in a place with people that don’t suit you”.

MORAL OF THE STORY:

Know your worth and where you are valued. The fact that Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God, came into this world and got the worst treatment ever should send a clear signal of how cruel and unappreciative the world is.
