With the ongoing black-on-black crime in South Africa; disguised as Xenophobia (Xenophobic Attacks); we sympathise with all the victims and their families for going through such a painful ordeal.
It can never be overemphasised that crime, in all its facets, will never pay. This is a misguided genocidal and hooliganism act that is attracting serious retribution from all the four corners of the world.
The government of South Africa; led by President Cyril Ramaphosa and the African National Congress (ANC); should be bold enough and settle this deplorable criminal wave once and for all. Over the years, South Africa has curved themselves a bad boy image tag through their documented history of violence and crime; which is sickeningly getting out of hand time after time. The violence and crime nature of Mzansi has claimed the lives of notable public figures such as Brett Goldin, Peta Teanet, Lucky Dube, Chris Hani, Marc Bachelor, Senzo Meyiwa, Tebogo Madingoane, Sibusiso Khwinana, and Reeva Steenkamp who was murdered by her Paralympic gold medalist boyfriend; Oscar Pistorius.
A few days ago South Africa experienced yet another gruesome murder of Uyinene Mrwetyana; a 19-year-old girl who was studying film and media at the University of Cape Town. Police Minister Bheki Cele addressed the mourners gathered in East London to bury the 19-year-old, explaining to them how the heart-throbbing crime had been committed by a 42-year-old man.
"She went to the post office to collect a parcel and he (the murderer) told her to
come back later. She returned... but began to realise (that) there was a
problem. I am not going to detail much, except that the man began
attacking the young woman. She fought back back heavily. She fought, and for some reason lost her balance and fell. He then
raped her. In the middle of that she rose again and fought. He then got
hold of an object and bashed her to death. He said he realised what he
did and went out to buy liquor and drink, because he didn't know what
to do. He wrapped the girl's body and put it into the boot of the car
and took it to where he stays. He then burnt the body, dug a shallow
grave, and put her in it", explained Minister Cele to the dejected and sorrowful crowd.
Wake up South Africa. This nonsensical nature of crimes against humanity is slowly eroding and alienating you from the rest of the world; particularly from your fellow African brothers and sisters. Be reminded, you are actually the victim of all these crime against fellow human beings.
As you think deep about it; here the voice of your own Lucky Dube whom you killed on broad daylight.
Victims - Lucky Dube
Didn’t, t know she was crying
Until now as she turns to look at me
She said boy o' boy you bring tears to my eyes
I said what, she said
Boy o' boy you bring tears to my eyes
Bob Marley said
How long shall they kill our prophets
While we stand aside and look
But little did he know that
Eventually the enemy
Will stand aside and look
She said boy o' boy you bring tears to my eyes
I said what, she said
Boy o' boy you bring tears to my eyes
Bob Marley said
How long shall they kill our prophets
While we stand aside and look
But little did he know that
Eventually the enemy
Will stand aside and look
While we slash and kill
Our own brothers
Knowing that already
They are the victims of the situation
Still licking wounds from brutality
Still licking wounds from humiliation
She said all these words and the
Wrinkles on her face became
Perfect trails for the tears and she said;
Chorus: (x3)
We are the victims every time
We got double trouble every time
She took me outside to the churchyard
Showed me graves on the ground
And she said;
There lies a man who fought for equality
There lies a boy who died in his struggle
Our own brothers
Knowing that already
They are the victims of the situation
Still licking wounds from brutality
Still licking wounds from humiliation
She said all these words and the
Wrinkles on her face became
Perfect trails for the tears and she said;
Chorus: (x3)
We are the victims every time
We got double trouble every time
She took me outside to the churchyard
Showed me graves on the ground
And she said;
There lies a man who fought for equality
There lies a boy who died in his struggle
Can all these heroes die in vain
While we slash and kill our own brothers
Knowing that already they are the
Victims of the situation
Still licking wounds from brutality
Still licking wounds from humiliation
Chorus: (till fade)
We are the victims every time
We got double trouble every time
While we slash and kill our own brothers
Knowing that already they are the
Victims of the situation
Still licking wounds from brutality
Still licking wounds from humiliation
Chorus: (till fade)
We are the victims every time
We got double trouble every time
