BREAKING NEWS: Poverty Is Not A Gift From God!

For a very long time, the world has been made to believe that poverty is associated with godliness because it “brings humility”. That school of thought has branded rich people to be associated with evil, and therefore “not suitable” for the Kingdom of God. This is a serious veneration of poverty; resulting in a serious misrepresentation of God and his Godliness!

BREAKING NEWS: Poverty Is Not A Gift From God!

God loves His children to prosper genuinely both spiritually and physically. Never be lied to by a deceitful school of thought, a group of heresy people, who want to the world to believe that poverty and holiness are Siamese twins. They want a Christian, more so a Servant of God, to move in tattered clothes and rugs to prove his “faithfulness and holiness”. Some actually try to teach heresy by saying that Jesus Christ was “poor” therefore Christians must emulate his “humble lifestyle of poverty”. Why on earth do people spread such blue lies???? For the avoidance of doubt, 2 Corinthians 8:9 says it all: “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich”. The message is very clear: Jesus Christ was rich but “he became poor” for us to be rich! For crying out loud, Jesus Christ could actually pick gold from a fish’s mouth (Matthew 17:27)! That’s not how poor people live and operate!

BREAKING NEWS: Poverty Is Not A Gift From God!

God delights in the genuine prosperity of his servants (apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers etc) and all Christians at large. If you are in doubt read some of these scriptures in whatever version of the Bible you have and hear God speaking.

Psalms 35:27, “Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant”.

2 Chronicles 20:20, “And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper”.

It should be noted, precisely so; that it is a biblical principle that the lesser is blessed of the greater. Hebrews 7:7, “And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better”. In line with this principle; how do you get blessed by a servant of God who has less than what you actually have, be it spiritually or physically?

In Acts 3:6, the story of Peter and man who was lame from birth summarises it all: “Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk”. Peter and John did not have silver and gold; therefore they could not give this man material wealth. But instead, such as they had (spiritual healing and deliverance); they gave the same. Very simple to understand: a servant of God cannot give you what he or she does not have.

In conclusion, 3 John 1:2 says: “Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers”. Ladies and gentlemen, wherever you are, it is God’s desire that you prosper both spiritually and physically. However, you can choose to worship God and remain poor physically, and still go to heaven. But as for me, I will choose to worship God in spirit and truth, prosper physically; and still go to heaven! The choice is yours!

BREAKING NEWS: Poverty Is Not A Gift From God!

As I pen off; I repeat this statement; POVERTY IS NOT A GIFT FROM GOD. It is a total misrepresentation of the Kingdom of God, whose king (Jesus Christ) actually became poor for you to become rich. That’s my story and I am sticking to it.
