“27 years is a long
time to do something you love to do”, said
Steve Harvey, one of the greatest stand-up comedians of our time. It was on the
day of his final act before retiring in 2012.
Dr. John C. Maxwell, a world acclaimed leadership
guru, once said: “Small disciplines
repeated with consistency every day lead to great achievements gained slowly
over time”.
Anthony Robbins also said: “It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives. It’s what
we do consistently”.
Perhaps, one standout quote on consistency belongs
to the renowned American Evangelist and Public Figure; Dr. Billy Graham: “Consistency, constancy, and undeviating
diligence to maintain Christian character are a must if the older generation is
to command respect, or even a hearing, from the young”.
For the collective success of consistency, we do
not have to look that far. Ants are a very good example of consistent and
persistent performers. They are very small even to the naked human eye. You
have to bend down in order to see them clearly. However, when you look at the
size of an anthill, it’s so amazing. How do such small creations build such an
enormous house for their habitation? Where do they get the power and zeal to do
so? The answer is simple: they apply the law of consistency. It might take weeks,
months, or even years; but eventually the ants will have their habitat.
