When Gifted; Anointed Men of God Are Brought Down - Evangelist Christopher Alam

When Gifted; Anointed Men of God Are Brought Down - Evangelist Christopher Alam

"I have seen some greatly gifted men of God brought down", says Evangelist Christopher Alam.

"These were men greatly gifted and anointed to preach, and were strong in the Gifts of the Spirit. God had used them to lead many to Christ, to heal the sick, and to inspire others.

The tragic thing is that they were so incredibly gifted and anointed, that they never saw the need to develop their Character.

God used them, but they were so carried away by their success, that they never paused even for a moment to deal with the character issues in their own lives ... things like arrogance, narcissism, pride, disrespect of others, looking down at those who they thought were beneath their own "level", the love of money, using others to their own advantage etc, never acknowledging their own faults, etc.

These things are like dark qualities that sometimes lurk in the souls of even the most gifted amongst us. If they don't bring us down today, be aware that they will eventually bring us down some other day. We must always deal with our own character and continually humble ourselves before God and man.

Pride is our greatest enemy. It even has the power to stop God's Grace from touching our lives. We can choose to walk humbly in God's Presence or be destroyed by our own lack of character, and it is far better to humble ourselves and to deal with our shortcomings than to be brought down.

As we serve God, as we seek to be better preachers and to have greater levels of anointing in our ministries, let us also seek the Lower Place, at the Feet of Jesus.

The Anointing can take us to great places, but the only Character can keep us there.

Let us, therefore, deal with our own character issues so that we may be more like Jesus, so that others may see more of Christ in our lives, and that we can run this race victoriously, all the way till the very end."

Evangelist Christopher Alam: Born in a Muslim family with Middle-Eastern origins, Christopher Alam received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1975. He was immediately confined in a mental asylum for his faith in Christ.

Christopher responded quickly to the call of God and began to preach the Gospel.

He was arrested several times and imprisoned for almost a year for preaching the Gospel. After being threatened with execution, Christopher finally escaped first to Belgium and then to Sweden, where he was given political asylum, eventually becoming a Swedish subject.
