Church Administration: The Corporate Mindset with Tapiwa Zuze

The church leader of the 21st century has to have a corporate view and treat his church like a global transnational company regardless of the size of the church.

More often than not, the church leadership tries to “avoid becoming worldly”, or “lose the spirituality”. People are used to seeing churches driving their events and programs in a haphazard manner. They are accustomed to doing things without proper planning, organising, leading or controlling, thereby breeding serious chaos in the house of God, which some people mistakenly interpret to be the “the presence of the Holy Spirit”.

1 Corinthians 14:33 “For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints”. Ladies and gentlemen, God was never and will never be an author of confusion! Just by taking a closer look at the diversity of his creation, by even contrasting between elephant (jumbo) and ant (tiny), you will understand that God is extremely organised in everything he does. The church must be run professionally like a Fortune 500 company! It must be run like a business.

Even Jesus Christ refers to the work of God as “my father’s business”. Luke 2:49 “And He said to them, “Why did you seek me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father's business?” Taking souls to heaven is big business! Let’s improve our church management skills to take this business we were assigned as ‘The Great Commission’ to another level.
